Synthesis, characterization and Antimicrobial activity evaluation of 3-(4,5 dihydro-5-phenyl-1H-pyrazole-3yl)-2H- chromen-2-one

Abstract

A coumarin bearing pyrazole derivatives demonstrate a wide range of biological such antibacterial, antifungal, anticancer, antioxidant, antimalarial, cardiovascular and antiulceragents. In 3-acetyl coumarin were synthesized from ethylacetate and salicyaldehydein the presence of L - proline catalyst. In 3-acetyl coumarin were condensed with substituted benzaldehyde in the presence of catalytic amount of piperidine. In coumarin substituted chalcone derivatives were reacted with hydrazine hydrate in presence of triethylamine. The entire synthesized compound was characterized by UV, FT-IRand 1H NMR spectra studies. The purity of the synthesized by TLC and tested for their antibacterial activity by Minimum Inhibitory concentration (MIC) method against two different microorganisms (Staphylococus aures) (MTCC3381) and Escherichia coli (MTCC739).The antibacterial activities of among all synthesized compounds coumarin bearing pyrazole derivatives found to have excellent activity than he corresponding coumarin chalcone and acetyl coumarin.
