Development of Efficient Agricultural Device to Evaluate the Soil Parameters for Precision Agriculture
Soil is a precious resource that we need to manage carefully. Almost 60% of crop yield depends on soil fertility. Hence it is necessary to test soil on a regular basis. A lot of mistakes are made in fertilization and planting. Soil fertility is determined by the soil’s chemical, physical and biological properties. Soil tests are used to determine the soil’s nutrient content and pH level. However in current scenario, to get the soil tested a farmer has to go to the soil testing laboratory and find out the results, which many farmers find difficult.
To overcome all these problem, our project focuses on designing a device that enables the farmer to determine the properties of the soil easily by integrating various sensors and getting all the parameters through ESP 8266. In the website that compares the parameters to existing parameters in the database and lists the suggested plants for better yield. This application is user-friendly. The information gained from application can help farmer to choose the crop based on the nutrients of soil. Since agriculture is the backbone of nation, this project focused to help the precision agriculture in an easy way.
